    my general feeling is that ML is mostly invented in contexts where 1) high quality human judgement is relatively expensive 2) programmers are relatively cheap and 3) aggregate accuracy is important but individual accuracy is less so. vey much NOT like journalism on all 3 counts

    Given how long it takes to get to our crappy NYC airports, and how poorly they’re run, I figure if I lived in, say, Iowa, and got a connecting flight through EWR/LGA/JFK, I wouldn’t have to leave home any earlier than I do here
