If you account for the lifetime of the vehicle and the amount of oil it displaces, assuming electricity is from renewable, I'd say it'll be a huge negative number of oil and no sure what the second question has to do with Tesla.

big assumption though. Most of those charging stations are charging batteries via burning natural gas and even coal. We have a long way to go. I simply question the folks who imply that we will never need another barrel of oil. A tesla is basically made of petrochemicals

Those stations are running regardless. Tesla is making the best use of them. Where I live all Tesla runnirun on Hydro power.

And where I live, our fishing is suffering because falling water levels in all the rivers. All very sad. Hydroelectric dams are not always so friendly to local environments. And we are def not running out of oil any time soon.

The entire west coast of Canada is powered by Hydro, its clean and we have plenty of water year round. Oil is garbage, its dying a slow death.

No.. No it is not. The steel in the body of each tesla has to be made somewhere and steel mills mostly use oil for energy. So do the tires! You aren't thinking. How many barrels of oil in a dam? Ever seen an electric cement truck?

your argument is ridiculous. Every car on earth is made that way today. Now picture all the cars burning gas on top of that. Now picture cars that dont. See where this is going? And Tesla factories are moving to fully renewable power along with the chargers.

LOL... every car in the world is made this way and yet you still say oil is dying. I'm not saying Tesla isn't viable. I simply say oil is NOT dying. And it never will.
