Suicide is preventable, but not selfish. Suicide is, normally, death caused by depression. The final symptom. A collapse under unbearable weight exacerbated by circumstance. Suicide is a tragedy. If you've never been close to that edge try not to judge what you can’t understand.

Depression can be a chemical imbalance in the brain. Exercise helps you cope, but is not a cure or a way to avoid it.
-
I think so many of these chemical imbalances and fears etc can ultimately be linked to poor blood flow. The resulting oxygen starvation causes all sorts of problems. Most people cannot and do not exercise at the level needed. Thus they cannot relate to the benefits.

See the tweet about suicidal rates I posted. Much lower in college athletes. about the best proof there is. It just had to be. My sense is a lot of health problems people have can be boiled down to the lack of blood flow and oxygen. The brain is so dependent on o2 it isn’t funny.

I really hope you never have any friends or family with depression, or at least that they don't turn to you for help.

I have been an athlete for 20 years, 14 (and counting) of which were as a competitive runner. I still experience suicidal ideations each month as a result of PMDD. You are misinterpreting studies by thinking they claim a causal link. They do not. Also, provide clearer citations.

These are statistical things. Some people will be on the extremes. Article is here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4547116/ … IMO the crux of the connection is the much higher blood volume, ~15 to 30% more, and resulting O2 supply.
