BTW, this is because childcare in Quebec is like a fifth of the cost in ROC: "the employment rate for mothers of kids age 5 or younger has spiked 16%, from 64% to 80%" ROC: 4% increase in same group.

Everything Quebec does is paid for by a pool of tax dollars to which Alberta contributes 10 billion annually without that gift there would be no free daycare

Alberta has been sitting on billions in oil money& chose2have zero sales tax and send cheques to every man woman and child.Alberta could easily have paid for this themselves had it been a priority.I guess low taxes so everyone can have a snowmobile, truck, boat is more important.

If people want to have kids and send their kids to daycare they can pay for it themselves, why should I have to pay income tax dollars to accommodate a two income family ? So they can buy a truck, boat or asnowmobile ?

That doesn’t mean it’s my responsibility to help their parents save money on daycare ... I’m sure their parents would also like me to pay for their dental coverage.
