The new QAnon thing is red shoes. They once looked for proof that a famous person ate pizza; now it’s all about finding a picture of a celebrity wearing red shoes. Not kidding.

The Grouch got his green fuzzy paws on leaked 'Resist Marxism' emails + it's not pretty. As local antifascists have already shown, the group has long been tied to Unite the Right and neo-Nazis. 5 cities are still mobilizing against their rallies tomorrow.

New Info on Aug 4: now say both right-wing and left-wing protesters had guns on Aug. 4. Police did not confiscate any guns and have offered no further evidence other than to say officers reported seeing the weapons.

Funny that Global Research is cross-posting GrayZoneProject stuff. They're also promoted by MintPressNews, and their contributors frequent places like Sputnik News. This map of conspiracy theorist overlap is instructive (GrayZone was w/ Alternet at the time). /1

    1. Gavin McInnes, head of the extreme right Proud Boys group, claims "Nazis are not a thing, Islam is a thing." Well, they're both things, but they ain't the same thing. What he actually wants to do is minimize the danger of white supremacy, of course.

Police across the US arrest protesters en masse, publish their names and photos on Twitter, and then drop the cases. Activists endure abuse, doxing, lost jobs, and long-term harassment as a result:

This is a good story on Facebook’s role in triggering political violence around the world. This aside about the US is odd, though. I don’t think Americans are “unsure” about how tech should regulate speech. They’re sure, but they’re bitterly divided.
