That was true in all of my chemistry classes* too when I got my chemistry degree. Many tests even allowed you to bring the textbook and any notes you wanted, because being able to look it up was the whole point. *except O Chem. That class was entirely about rote memorization.

Oh I’m suddenly having flashbacks about my Ochem class. One time I woke up in that class. And I was face to face with the professor. No idea how long I had dozed off or how long he was standing in front of me lol
