    RE CCTV images of Khashoggi entering but not leaving: Turkey has (illegally) hacked & leaked images of Khashoggi entering the Saudi consulate. Very likely they disabled those cameras they hacked to conveniently frame Saudi. That’s a possibility that can’t be ignored at this stage

    3 days since I tweeted this, and the Saudis have shown just as little interest in countering the evidence they murdered Khashoggi as they did before. They're not even pretending to care about denying it. It's like they can't even be bothered

    Unless Saudi Arabia can provide contrary evidence in short order, we should shift our assessment of Khashoggi's disappearance from "likely assassination" to "assassination." We shouldn't have to keep up this pretense any longer: There is a clarity in calling things what they are

    I get how many see Pompeo's statement and, say, sure: Israel is the most successful country in the region (it is). I've said before that Israel is a "model" of a sustainable illiberal democracy. But that completely elides the reality of the occupation and Palestinian suffering

    It's kinda nuts that a US secretary of state would say this, but I suppose these days it barely registers. Just like when Bolton said Palestine in scare quotes at a press briefing
