I've noticed a lot of people avoid Diesel because they don't think it's useful if they don't like query builders. Even if `sql_query` is the *only* part of Diesel's API you end up using, I think you'll be pleased with the results.
Looks like using Dapper at that point, which is a really nice experience in C#.
