Yeah, I don't think it's a good argument personally. Granted, I've also given a talk about how you can't actually opt out of ownership semantics regardless of what language you're using, so I'm strongly biased
I've enjoyed working with it in web personally. Most of the arguments I've heard against it are around the language's complexity, and that the borrow checker vs GC is overkill for the web
