My least favorite trend on Rust RFCs are people who make arguments assuming that Rust will eventually become Haskell. Arguments like "what about HKT" or "consider monoids, semigroups, etc" or "this might confuse haskell programmers" are just so out of place.

I mean outside of RFC’s. Like where should people talk about how they would like to see rust develop long term?

Probably on the internals forum, but really I don't know how much value there is in that unless it's something structured roughly like an RFC. It's easy to talk about features that sound nice in concept without thinking through the motivations/consequences. Those are important.
