      for the longest time I was wondering why UA keep loading my bags on to SQ 1 (which is actually vaguely plausible when I am flying SFO -> Asia) but I eventually realized it says "SQ - 1" no matter where I fly: ORD to LHR this time, definitely won't make sense to send it on SQ 1!

      Some sort of sequence number is likely, although it doesn’t seem to match anything on my ticket. Also I seem to get SQ-1 a lot, so likely not global across all the passengers (not even on the same plane).
