Out of curiosity I looked through my receipts for the last few GPUs I've bought. I've basically always bought the second best GPU available at the time. In 2009 that cost $300. In 2006 it was $275. The magnitude that cryptocurrencies have fucked up that market is insane.

I bought a gtx 1070 *right* before the cryptocurrency boom. The primary thing from keeping me from building a new computer is I'm absolutely not paying double what I paid over a year later... crazy
TBH I think at this point we should all just accept that we fucked up the internet and call for a mulligan
