      Fun fact: libgit2, a library made by Github, uses TLS 1.1 on Windows versions earlier than 10. Which means that attempting to access Github via libgit2 on Windows 7 is now broken. https://github.com/rust-lang/cargo/issues/5066 …

      It uses TLS 1.0, and there is a patch to fix it. This is only going to get worse after June when the PCI deadline forces more sites to disable TLS 1.0.

      I’ve been pushing third parties to get on TLS 1.2 for years now. It is going frustratingly slow because of exactly problems like this.

      Yeah, I don't envy anybody who's actually on the end of trying to fix this. Glad to hear there's a patch to fix this one for libgit2 though.
