You are not your code, or your favorite framework/language/tech. Getting defensive about it just shuts down the conversation. Listen, and try to work with others to understand their perspective.
I agree with your point, but the industry literally promotes identifying with your language/framework. The more people using it, the more potential jobs you have. I don't think there's an obvious solution to that incentive.

I think this is less true than it was 5 or 10 years ago. Most companies are using multiple stacks and are polyglot.

That doesn't change the point. The polyglot company using multiple technologies still needs to be using *your* technology
