From what I hear it’s hundreds more than an equivalent table saw which seems like a sound investment. But for sure that’s not for everyone.

I think I’m going to get myself one for my birthday.
@pragdave almost losing a digit made me extra paranoid.2 replies 0 retweets 1 like -

I wish I could get this on a down market saw. I know I should have it but it’s so pricey. It caused me to google this: https://www.quora.com/When-do-Sawstops-patents-expire …

"It's so pricey" So how much are your fingers worth exactly?

It’s like any insurance calculation, I guess. Likelihood of incident, hours of use all factor in. Considering that I don’t exactly know I’ll use this a lot, the cost is a major factor. One *can* use a standard table saw and keep all digits. That insurance would be nice though.

Eh. I cut the tip of my thumb off at camp as a kit. A saw that can't do that seems like a worthwhile investment no matter how little you use it to me.
