The memory allocated by your vector is never freed. `slice` doesn't own its memory, and thus doesn't free it.

You'll notice the type you get back is `&[size_80_struct]`. Having `&something` go out of scope never causes `Drop` to occur (since you don't own it). You can never directly have a `[size_80_struct]`. (There are fixed size arrays like `[T; 8]` but that's a different thing)
