Are any other @rustlang folks bothered by `Vec` over `Vector` but `Option` over `Opt`? (And a billion other things that are abbreviated that don't need to be)

I think part of this is that Graydon had a rule to not have long names from what I remember from Steve's history talk. So I wonder what stuff came when. I wonder if we would have Vector if it came later in the game.

6 characters is not a long name by any measurement

You're right. I just for some reason am okay with Vec being 3 and not 6. I just don't know why beyond "I like it that way?" Whereas Opt just "looks weird" and it's better as Option.
