An interesting feedback loop - we sometimes make things explicit in Rust because of niche performance needs, e.g., Rc vs Arc

then because it is explicit, people think it is really important to do the more performant thing every time. When in reality, for 99% of

even performance-sensitive apps, the difference is not important. OK, that isn't really a loop, but still interesting I think.

Interestingly, making stuff like that explicit means I notice it in code reviews. And I comment on it—even if it won't matter in a CLI app

(I should stop doing that, but on the other hand I personally enjoy micro-optimizing stuff far too much)
