Looking at latency #'s https://www.techempower.com/benchmarks/previews/round15/#section=data-r15&hw=ph&test=json … here, the latest round reflects my experience w/Rails. additional ~8 ms overhead v Roda.

Ruby's not a great language for 0 cost abstractions unfortunately. :(
I *would* be surprised to hear that the routing layer alone was 8ms overhead difference though

I think it's from all the default middlewares. There's like 18 of them.

Seems like a PR to the benchmark disabling the unnecessary middlewares for the benchmark would be reasonable?
