First justification I agree with for terminating text files with newline: appending new lines doesn't cause diff to flag unmodified content.

@sgrif Huh, I guess I rarely cat multiple files. I generally hate trailing newline because it serves no syntactic or aesthetic purpose.

I've been wracking my brain as to why it mattered to me. It was concatenation of db scripts. Ultimately needed to work around the vagaries.
