      i.e. if you send `retries: 3` should the code execute up to 3 times, or should it run once and then "retry" for 3 times (total of 4).

      I assume you had a survey on that last tweet that isn’t in @tweetbot. I think “tries: 3” would mean 3 tries, retries: 3 means 4 tries.

      i'm thinking "retries" is a bad keyword. Too much ambiguity. Maybe "attempts" or "max_attempts" might be better?

      "tries" is good, but might be confused with the data structure? Harder to grep for?
