except the state is wasting more money appealing the decision instead of doing something meaningful
I mean if it could go to the supreme court and help provide metrics for what "gerrymandering" is for lower courts that's not bad

maybe? This case was pretty specific though. Only reason it was "illegal" is it targeted race. Many other forms still legal

this form of gerrymandering is already illegal. It's so difficult to prove though the case took 3 years (or so).
