      i don't mind the error boilerplate so it's in there, but could actually all go away if i was really trying to just knock out a script

      since this is only using std, some other crates could make it a bit nicer, but sometimes it's easier to just not use them

      It could have also helped prevent unit conversion errors if I wrote better code
