      in a large systems project I'd find C, C++, Python, make, shell scripts, a sprinkling of ASM, probably some weird, custom DSL

      certainly not niche. Most serious frameworks/libs are written in something that provides type checking

      Angular2: typescript, React: flow, Ember: jsdoc type annotations (not sure if enforced/linted). So, 2 of the big 3.

          "Serious" was a poor word choice. Large projects tend to because js development scales poorly otherwise.
