CPUs have been bit slower, what to what? Probably got nice reduction in power consumption though!
My new GPU is 5-6 times more powerful than one I had 4 years ago. I replaced a 10 year old CPU recently and saw negligible perf difference

My old CPU also wouldn't have been able to handle my current GPU (or at least the socket type wouldn't have)

GPUs are monsters. I save money on every possible part I can just to dump it all on the GPU. They're mind bogglingly fast.
