Can someone explain how the #supermoon is not going to happen for another 18 years even though the moon's orbital period is 27 days?

I believe the short version is "eccentric orbit"
Sure -- That doesn't explain the 17 year deal though. We'll have another good one in Jan 2018, Feb 2019
