the fact that Infinite is a "value" and that 1/0 produces it is already a fairly disgusting abuse, depending on who you ask.

1/0 == Infinity made sense to fifth grade me, though, so I stand by it

It's not actually an indeterminate form, fwiw. x-> 1 / y -> 0 does diverge to infinity reliably iirc. That's just like, not a number.

wolfram alpha, ever the smartass about complex numbers, declares 1/0 to be "complex infinity"

I'm just saying, math people got their shit together about this once. 0 ^ 0 == 1 because arbitrary. They could do the same here.

no it's also indeterminate -- see the behaviour of powr.

it is absolutely indeterminate in math as wellhttps://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=0%5E0

I've always seen it taught as equal to 1 (not disputing that "indeterminite" is a valid answer, or that any is debatable)

dunno what to say dude, you've always seen it taught incorrectly. If you define 0^0 then math breaks, more or less.

it makes sense to eval 0^0 if you know "where" the 0's are from (limit) or how you want to use the results (does the right thing)
