It's interesting to me how newer developers (or even those around before Github) can't imagine needing to migrate a project
You should probably be squashing and rebasing before merging anyway. Mention relevant discussion points in the commit message.

@sgrif Aren't there already tools to dump everything from a repo? iirc gitlab also had a pretty decent migration story as well? -
@Gankro Yes, but not into anything with decent tooling. Cost of doing that much higher than cost of writing good commit messages.
