I do not believe that the Android/IOS duoply on mobile is unassailable. Unlikely that someone new will take 50%+ of the market, but 20-30%..

@sgrif the OS is a successful platform both for Apple and app authors. I don't think the App Store matters too much.
@nick_r_cameron While I don't dispute the success some have had, most app authors I know have lost money on OS X.

@nick_r_cameron My point was more that Windows v OS X is a poor analogy for iOS v Android. I agree with your general point. :)
