hmm so my linux dual boot is having memory issues: compiling large c++ or rust codebases tend to segfault the compiler, and gnome sometimes just hangs and gets stuck the windows memtest passes, the linux memtest hangs at 17% (which apparently is a known bug?)

i've never had segfaults on the windows boot, but they're somewhat common on linux and i don't think they're a new problem i'm kinda at a loss as to how to debug this. the fact that it's linux-only seems to rule out hardware issues? thoughts?

seems likely to be hardware issues that simply don't trigger under windows

if it was my machine I would either replace it or else start swapping out parts until it works again

You know most people don't just have random computer parts laying around right? ;P

my guess is that Manish might! but also you can take out half the RAM etc.
