(playing Civ 6) me: I'm going to pick my civ based on how good the music is, so it's Kongo, America, India, or Brazil everyone else: how chaotic neutral of you

I also do this. If you're playing based on how good the music is, Cree is in its own tier with China after. Kongo gets old way too fast (Russia is in the same tier).

I'm a fan of Mo Li Hua but I wouldn't rank China amongst the top soundtracks. It's good, though. I haven't yet heard the Cree one because it's not in the original Spotify album, listening to it now

i also think that picking Mo Li Hua, i.e. "the China song", is a bit of laziness on the part of the composers: most of the other song picks are very fitting but not the obvious first choice

if you asked someone to tell you an America song they might say America The Beautiful or something Hard Times Come Again No More just ... *exudes* "America", but it's not an obvious choice at all

Yeah, but America The Beautiful wouldn't work at all in this sorta game. I think if there was anything as obvious to pick they would have done it for America as well

As impressed as I am with how they did the soundtrack, I also do think it's a bit of a shame they prioritized accuracy over anything else. e.g. the Stellaris soundtrack makes me feel like I'm in Star Trek and amped to run my empire, very few Civs give me that
