fun fact: I keep considering writing a physical and virtual memory emulator in JS for "demonstration purposes" like you could quite easily do something in JS to generate "structs" whose get/setters delegate to reading out of a UInt8Array

like a really basic memory layout thing so that if a JS-native object knows its address, and the types of its fields, you can translate that to a memory location in your emulator and transparently make objects hosted in your own virtual memory
