I would like to nominate `Option::as_deref` for the worst named method in Rust

as the person who took part in implementing/naming that function: this was a huge can of worms and no one had a better suggestion, not for lack of trying
I definitely didn't mean this as a dig at the folks responsible for the name, and I hope it didn't come off that way. It's definitely a hard method to name.

no worries. it came up in my rust github notifications inbox recently because of the related methods on Result that were put in at the same time and i read through the threads for its original PR and tracking issue just now to make sure i remembered who named it

i dunno, sometimes i feel like an awkward name shouldn't get in the way of a method that has definitely saved me some gnarly syntax
