Hey @rustlang historians:
Where did the miscapitalization of Rust as RUST (all caps) come from?
It seems like every engineering/embedded company I talk to stylizes it as that, but I’ve never seen official references that do that.
Its so pervasive, and I dont understand.

That sounds like the most plausible explanation I've heard. I've been around since the very early days of Rust and don't know of a single part of the history that would specifically lead to this capitalization.
I've never seen that capitalization in the wild other than the logo of the video game with the same name
