Q for people that have changed their first name: did you have a name you liked better but didn’t choose because of some other association? I really love the name Ezra but I couldn’t take it bc of the awkwardness of a preexisting Ezra with whom people in my life have bad blood.

ugh that sucks! you really can't choose that one, there's no way around it! two of the closest people in my life are either married or engaged to someone with my birthname so I hear it quite often, I would be a little annoyed if my best friend was like "yes, this one, on purpose"
