i was explaining this to a non-citizen friend and it took extremely long for her to process this because she thought that I was saying that those *born* in PR can't vote, because that would be the "logical" (still shitty) one
Yeah, I find it interesting that folks think those born in the territories are anything other than full American citizens with the same rights as any other American citizen.

uh but that's actually true, people from territories *other than Puerto Rico* are nationals, not citizens.
