It wasn't easy to find. I really hope this becomes more visible, or maybe even the default setting. I'd be curious (maybe scared if I had to work with it) if there was a build that would run faster with optimized build scripts and proc macros.
Arguably proc macros *should* be built optimized, since they are re-built relatively rarely but run on every code change. It's basically a clean build time vs incremental build time tradeoff

Yeah that's why I'm looking forward to custom profiles in 1.42 where you can more nicely distinguish between a "publish" profile where you ideally never do incremental builds and a semi-optimized "development" profile that you actually work with.
