We do this but the other person has unilateral power of Tag. No arguing. You’re out. Works well for us.

There are two of you! You’re a team. Take a breath and catch yourself. You’re doing great

Either commit to taking action or walk away. Kids need clear message from parents on what you expect from them. Nothing wrong with taking a break, far better than loosing your temper, caving in to their demands to end tantrum. Kids are kids, they yell sometimes, thats also ok.

Breathe in, breathe out. Walk. You're alright. It's normal. You did the right thing! As

This is the hardest line to draw and I commend you for doing so. I get these also and it’s hard for me to remember to go outside.

I did the same thing a week ago. Thing is, my kids notice when I’m anxious even if I’m doing my best to stay calm. So I stepped outside for a breather once I got an “OK” signal from my wife that it was safe to do so. Hang in there, sounds to me like you did the right thing.

So, as a single parent, I say throw out all the ideas that you always need to be in control and your kids require it. You’re human. We are fallible.

You know what helps you feel grounded. Tap into that. Time will pass, your anxiety will ease, you will move through it to the other side and try again. You’ve got this.
