from talking to other projects, though, to some extent we're victims of our own success, we have an open governance model and ethos that most projects *look up to*, and they're not ... wrong to! we've not managed to scale our processes to match the level of success we've had here
This part isn't really unique to Rust at all. The decision makers in any popular open source project become public figures among that community.
