I'm more concerned about the "tragedy of the commons" thing. This attempt was well-behaved (and has, by now, stopped). The last attempt was (relatively) well-behaved. The next is not guaranteed to be... and if it followed after this one became entrenched, may prove impervious.
I agree. Which is why I think we should be exploring what is considered acceptable/well behaved, provide an explicit way for well behaved citizens to do it, and have guard rails in place to make sure packages can't misbehave.
