You can add location information to your Tweets, such as your city or precise location, from the web and via third-party applications. You always have the option to delete your Tweet location history. Learn more
What we have in the funding module is a best case scenario, imo. I don't think it's catastrophizing to imagine far worse, given history.
TBH, when this went on the roadmap we hadn't even considered advertising. It was purely about getting cleaner install results that only showed you things if you actually needed to read them.
