The Rust subreddit really is not a safe place
In theory all the toxic comments should be downvoted, removing them won't fix the fact that they're the top upvoted comments. There's a lot of problem people not doing anything we could moderate

Gotcha, that is much harder. Moderation is a very blunt instrument. As a mod you can sticky posts and reminders on being nice/etc. but it is much harder to try to steer a ship already going in the wrong direction.
