The thing that blows my mind about editors is this: - 2006 (or earlier; this is when I started vim) until now: common languages are automatically highlighted and indented mostly correctly. - 2019: There is no way to get vim to correctly indent common TypeScript code in realtime.

JSX tags compile to function calls. For React that function is React.createElement, but it can be anything. It's a compiler option.
