for any swift maintainers that roll by: are the docs in https://github.com/apple/swift/tree/master/docs/ABI … actually expected to be correct and up to date with the final stable ABI? The wording suggests that these are design docs that might not actually reflect the final implementation you're shipping.

the calling convention one sadly cannot *really* be correct since lots of it is listing a series of strategies you can/should try, and like, i assume you actually did the legwork and picked one?

(Also godbolt support Swift 5, so you can directly observe compiler behavior fairly easily, though it doesn't support anything except x86_64, I think.)
