Is it rude to eat while on a video chat in a work context?

It's only rude if you're muted while eating. For best results you should always leave your mic on, make lots of eating noises, and preferably talk with your mouth full

If folks do consider this rude, I don't think that's fair. Unless you're disrupting the meeting by doing it (e.g. unmuted while eating), or doing something that would be unacceptable if you ate lunch with them (see? food!), then I don't see why they should be allowed to dictate
