Can folks give me some good examples of gems which either generate migrations for its users, or otherwise modify DB schema? Preferably gems where the schema its generating is meant to be mostly opaque to the user. Right now I've got PaperTrail, ActiveStorage, Devise. What else?

Ooh I hadn't even thought about engines. They for sure don't generate migrations visible to the user IIRC. That will have some really interesting consequences for what I'm looking into (things like handling users who can't tolerate downtime)

Maybe globalize? https://github.com/globalize/globalize/blob/master/README.md#creating-translation-tables … It's not 100% opaque though, as columns can be modified without problems.

Like yeah it's for generating migrations but it also (implicitly) creates a table in your db when you run one of its rake tasks.
