there's an interesting design space between static analysis and runtime here: actual memory regions only exist at runtime, but I want build-time visualisation

I'd actually be fine with this being a toy for teaching purposes, rather than production tooling that's sort of my default for personal projects these days

What's weird about this sort of thing is that lifetimes don't even necessarily have anything to do with memory layout at all
