Most of the people I talk to that have written Rust say they would love to write it full time but don’t have a job that can support it. Every company I talk to that does Rust says they can’t find enough Rust developers. Something is broken here.

You have to factor in jobs people want to do and jobs offered and available. For example there's tons of crypto currency/block chain rust jobs. Just that a lot of people don't want to work on blockchain tech. There's a ton of reasons this could be broken. It's also early on.
