I tried writing some JavaScript today. I tried not to add any frivolous dependencies. I ended up with 18k dependencies. This is not a joke.

It's not like there aren't solutions to this problem. I have a feeling the Javascript community isn't set up to take advantage of them though, since it means you are one of many contributors to a good utility library instead of author of 50 small modules of your own...

Yeah, but unfortunately, I feel that the Javascripter's community is not particularly interested in address the problem.
