the check in agent says to me "where is dubai" I said "in the middle of the east" because I'm helpful like that

agent sees some arabic on my passport and he's like "ohh is it part of saudi arabia"

agent helpfully learns that it is not. continues to go thru my passport and finally tells me he's looking for a visa

"oh!" I say "I don't need one because I'm an Indian national with a US visa" surely that will help

he...doesn't believe me. I literally pull up the uae embassy website and he doesn't wanna look at it. I realllllly don't want to "call your manager" this man but he literally doesn't know the check rules for my destination country

and now. NOW. he told me to leave the line because—quoting verbatim—he has to "call dubai"
